Minister of State for Statutory Pradipsinh Jadeja The state government has decided to bring this bill in place of the ordinance reducing the salaries of office bearers and MLAs.  50% reduction in basic pay of MLAs and office bearers will be effective for a period of one year from April 2020.  ઘટાડો With the reduction in the salaries of office bearers and MLAs, an estimated Rs.  2 crore 3 lakh will be saved. 

The amount can be used to cover the cost of the fight against Corona.  Retired employees appointed on contract basis will also get 50 per cent reduction in their salaries for a period of one year.  Minister of State for Statutory Affairs Pradipsinh Jadeja has said that with regard to the global epidemic, the state government has given Rs.  It was earlier decided to make a 50 per cent cut for a period of one year from 01/04/2050 to 31/08/2021.  In this regard, the Vat order issued in April, 2020 has been implemented. 

 In this regard in the next assembly session  A bill in this regard will be brought.  Minister Jadeja added that the state government has taken various steps to save money in the wake of the Koro epidemic.  At that time, some MLAs and office bearers were personally ready to help the state government financially.

  In order to adopt a uniform policy in this regard, under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Nitinbhai Patel, the State Government has reduced the basic salaries of MLAs and office bearers by 20% from April, 2020 to one year.  It has decided to amend the relevant laws by issuing an ordinance providing for the period to be implemented.

The Minister said that as the provisions of this ordinance need to be brought in the form of a bill in the next session of the Legislative Assembly, it has been decided to bring this Bill in the meeting of the State Cabinet held today.  And this bill will be introduced in the next assembly session and will be given the form of law with the approval of the House.

With this decision of the state government, the salaries of office bearers and MLAs have been reduced to Rs.  2 crore 3 lakh will be saved. 

The amount can be used to cover the cost of the fight against Corona.  In addition, the Minister said that in the same way that the salaries of MLAs and other office bearers have been reduced by 50 per cent for one year, the salaries of retired employees / officers appointed by the State Government on contract basis will also be reduced by 50 per cent for a period of one year.
