Kia has launched its third sub-compact SUV Sonnet in India. The base model of the car (HTE with 1.2 liter engine) is priced at Rs 6.71 lakh and the top model (GTX) is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh. This is the introductory price (ex-showroom). This is a sub-4 meter compact SUV, a glimpse of which the company showed last month. The company had earlier announced its design and features. Only the price has been announced today. Kia Sonnet will compete with cars like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport.
Engine and power
The Kia Sonnet is available in five variants and 11 color options. The Sonnet will have 1.2-liter four-cylinder and 1.0-liter GDi turbo petrol engine options. It will also have a 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engine. The engine can be mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox.
Features
There are 24 features of Kia Sonnet that are being offered for the first time. The 10.25-inch infotainment system will be available, which is the largest infotainment system in the sub 4m category.
This car is the first car in its segment with a ventilated front seat. Apart from this, a 6-speed AMT optional automatic gearbox is provided, which is not found in any other car. The car also has LED sound mood lights, which vary according to the beats of the music.
It will also have a front parking sensor along with a rear parking sensor. This is the first car with such features in this segment.
Interior
The Kia Sonnet will also come with a dual trim concept. It features a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster. It is also provided with automatic climate control, sunroof. It has premium features like navigation and live traffic. An air purifier with virus protection will also be available.
This SUV will also have features like wireless charger, remote engine start, multi drive. So far the company has received more than 25,000 bookings and is getting 1000 bookings daily. The company aims to sell 1 lakh units in India in a year and export 50,000 units.
