Now the government will bring back your stolen mobile, what will you have to do?

Often it happens that your phone is lost or stolen. But changing their SIM card or IMEI number makes it difficult to detect. The government will bring a solution to your problem next month.

The government is going to launch a technology-based settlement next month, through which the SIM card or IMEI number will be replaced even if the lost or stolen phone can be detected. The Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has developed a technology and is expected to start from August.

An official from the Department of Telecommunications said that C-DOT has a technology ready. After the Parliament session, the Department of Telecommunications will contact the minister for the start of this system. This is likely to begin next month.

In July 2017, the Department of Telecommunications has given the task of developing C-DOT to develop a ‘Central Equipment Identity Register’ (CEIR) with the aim of reducing the occurrence of counterfeit mobile phones and theft. Government has allocated Rs 15 crores for the creation of CIR. The CEER system will stop all types of services on theft or missing phones, even after removing SIM cards or changing the IMEI number.
